ISO 45001

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Objectives of the new approach:

  • Ensuring the effective occupational health and safety of workers and not only (e.g. visitors), and
  • Ensuring compliance with compliance obligations.

OBJECTIVES 

At the end of this course to present the requirements of the ISO 45001:2018 standard, participants will be able to :

  • Know what a standard of occupational health and safety management is (OSH)
  • Know the terminology used by ISO 45001:2018
  • Know the success factors of an OSH management system
  • Understand the requirements for an OSH management system
  • Identify elements of your own OSH management system that can meet the requirements of the standard

  • Managers and managers of workplaces
  • Managers and managers of workplaces
  • Anyone interested in knowing the standards of OSH management

 

PREREQUISITE

  • Not required, although minimal knowledge of (applicable) national law would be beneficial

 

TRAINING AGENDA

  • Introduction and overview of the course
  • The intentions of the 2018 revision of the standard ISO 45001
  • Terms and definitions (ISO 45001:2018)
  • Presentation of requirements ISO 45001:2018
  • Context of the organization (chapter 4): Discussions about the importance of understanding the context of the organization and the needs and expectations of workers and other stakeholders
  • Leadership and worker participation (Chapter 5): Description of the role of top management in an OSH management system; consultation and participation
  • Planning (Chapter 6): Hazard identification and risk and opportunity assessment; Determination of legal and other requirements
  • Support (Chapter 7): Resources; Human Resources Management d.p.d.v. of competence, awareness and communication; Documented information
  • Operation (Chapter 8): Operational planning and control – eliminating hazards and reducing OSH risks, change management, sourcing.  Emergency preparedness and response capability
  • Performance Evaluation (Chapter 9) – Conformity evaluation
  • Improvement (Chapter 10) — Incident, non-compliance and corrective action
